  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Yanagi Ba - I've been hand sanding this like a maniac and it is looking good! full mirror/high satin two tone finish

This knife is so awesome it has a another knife in it! :p

Halfways through wet sanding sheaths by hand...

Oil Slick Ano

Custom KCT :D

Is it me, or is that a nonstandard folder blade hanging from the wall?

Looking sick as usual, D. I can't wait to see that Yanagi Ba when it's finished!

No, that's just like... umm metal and stuff.

I think the Yanagi Ba will get something nice for the handle... still debating what! :D

Thanks Rolf! Thin as in .315" stock! They are just taller than wide, lol.

I'd like to do a kogotana/tanto run, it is sort of a hybrid design I have planned. I have been using AEBL and it is a possibility along with A2 and a few others. ~.125" thick and 3/4" tall

Xander - you asked if the Yanagi Ba wold have the Urasuki (back hollow) grind... it has one but it is so slight I wouldn't really call it one. It will add to the slicing geometry but may not be hollow enough to last for flat on the stone sharpening. I really like the edge geometry! :)

Farchyld - that folder blade is a test piece. I ground it with a very complex geometry to see how stable CPM-10v steel is during heat treat. I usually do not grind folder blades before heat treat but may need to with 10v... the 10v was actually tough to grind in the soft state as it is 10% Vanadium carbides. I'll see! That's a Hira Zukuri grind!
