So I thought I'd start a thread about this guy. I'd never heard of him, at least I didn't think I had, until a couple days ago. Apparently, the AZ based Knife Shop sells his knives in every store. I got a gift certificate to The Knife Shop as a birthday gift and unexpectedly my eye wandered to the not so affordable custom case. They had about six or seven Randy Lee's in the case ranging from $399 for a nice drop point hunter to $875 for an exquisite bowie.
Anyway, after looking at 4 of the knives for about an hour I paid the substantial difference left after my gift certificate for one of the drop point hunters with a curly maple and ironwood handle with nickel-silver fittings and mirror polished ATS-34 blade. It's simply beautiful from every angle, especially the blade itself, and fits perfectly in my hand with a nice weight. It won't be my last of these knives, for sure!
Just wondering if Randy Lee's knives are well known outside of Arizona...
