"Ranger"-brand knives... Any experience?

This morning before work I walked across the street to the local swapmeet that operates on Wednesdays and weekends. While poking around I came across a few old, rather badly beaten-up stockman-pattern knives with the stamp "RANGER Prov USA" on the clip point blade. Both had synthetic handles: One had sawcut black delrin, similar to what you'd find on a Buck slipjoint, with RANGER pressed in. The other had white handles with some logo on them, some sort of advertising knife. The black one had a cracked scale and was listed at $30, so I didn't purchase it. Both had some rust and patina on them, so they could be carbon steel. Both were about the same size as my China-made Buck 301. I handled the black one and the clip and spey blades had good snap, although the sheepsfoot was beyond the ability of my weak thumbnails.

Does anybody here have some input? This is a brand that I've not heard of (not that I'm an expert on slipjoints ;) ) and they looked rather interesting.

Whoops. The search function is your friend. So is Google. I just got so excited to ask all you guys that I forgot about those. Just found a lot more information on them. :D

Rangers was very common in our area. They are excellent user knives. I've carried a 4 inch stockman when I was young and it held up to farm work and misuse. They ain't the prettiest things but they are a top notch knife.
