Of course. :D

I saw it while browsing through rangerjoe.com and it looks like a nice solid piece. I may have to take a drive down to their store and check it out in person.

Well, I drove down to Victory Drive today and picked up a "Shank" at Ranger Joe's. No box, no fancy packaging, no fluff. Just a serious and very solid piece of steel. Despite the slim profile of the knife, it's quite solid. You'd have to intentionally abuse the knife really really hard in order to break it. It's just the right size and thickness to be tough, yet not at all bulky to get in the way when you're packing alot of gear. I like the idea of the paracord wrap instead of scales, since it allows for easier cleaning of the carbon steel blade and if you're in a situation where you need to use the paracord, you can just remove it from the handle. I found that it was not as sharp as I would have liked, but it's no big deal since I like to sharpen my knives anyway. Still, it makes a very effective weapon and looks like it would makes a great throwing knife. It's certainly a knife that could take a beating and then some. Now, about the sheath.... It's simple and functional, nothing fancy, but it's one of those that you either like or don't like. I would have liked some eyelets around the edges of the sheath to make it a bit more versatile, but it does it's job. Like I said before, there's nothing fancy about the Ranger Shank, it's just a serious tool meant to be used. Overall, I'm very happy with Shank and look forward to seeing more products from Ranger Knives.
