Does anyone Know if the cordura(?) sheaths that come with the Ranger Knives sold at Sage Creek Outfitters have a small sheath pocket on them, from the pictures I couldn't be sure, although it looks like there might be one. If so what sort of things can it hold, specifically could it fit a medium size SAK such as the Huntsman? I think maybe an RD 7 plus the SAK might make an excellent field combination.

Thanks in advance.

I just checked... Mine (RD9) will hold a deluxe tinker with room to spare.

I have a gallon zip lock back folded and taped, mag bar firestarter, and about 10' of cord in my RD7 pocket with room to spare for atleast a Tinker easily. My only complaint about the sheath is that the velcro closure to hold the handle doesn't do the best job and if inverted some of the edge becomes exposed.

Otherwise, the blade and sheath combo is a pretty good deal for the price

Cool, Thanks for the Info guys. I was putting together a little gift for another knife knut friend of mine. I'm thinking of going with an RD 7, plus a SAK Hiker and maybe an endura to put in the pocket. I figured that would cove most of his backwoods cutting needs. What do you all think?

Strange, before I read this post I had my newly acquired RD7 (a user) and sheath with a SAK one handed Trekker in the pouch lying right in front of me in the computer hutch. Don't know if it's weirder that it happened or that I decided to comment on it. Oh well, sound like a great gift and combo. Ranger knives rock and Justin gives excellent customer service. I prefer the full flat ground versions to the sabre ground versions if that's a consideration. :D

PC 356, I just purchased two of them, one for my buddy and one for myself. They are both the flat ground orange micarta handled ones from Sage Creek Outfitters. I too like the flat grind, I think it's easier to re-sharpen. Going to be putting a Spyderco Almite R2, Sak Hiker and Swedish Firesteel in his pouch if it'll all fit. I hope so, he should be pretty well set then.
