I'm looking at picking up a Ranger Knive. Right now I'm looking at the R.A.K or the Ready Detachment Knife. Any one have experience with either or any Ranger knives? Are they good?

I have 3 including an RAK with a micarta handle. The RAK is a handy size over my larger RD's and it is a very stout tool. I haven't found a use yet, however, for the skull crusher pommel. I was thinking of grinding it down.

There is a Ranger Knives forum on another site that you can visit for more info and first hand reviews.

One great thing about Ranger is you can deal with the owner Justin Gingrich directly should you desire any personal modifications.

I have a couple of the RD's from Justin. The fit and finish is great and the heat-treat seems excellent. They hold their edges well.

ive beat the crap out of my rd7 and it keeps asking for more . trust me and the others you cant go wrong with any knife from ranger.

I've got two RD-9's. One was special made for Sage Creek Outfitters with blaze orange G-10 handles and the other is a custom one with S-7 tool steel and an extended front guard (I'm clumsy). If you're looking for a knife that will cut, chop, and stand up to what unimaginative people call 'abuse', get a Ready Detachment knife.

You can deal directly with Justin (which is always a treat) or get them from a few sellers with online websites.
