Ranger Knives

Mmmmh, may I direct you to the search tool, there are many, many people on this forum who own Ranger knives? Supposedly they started out as Busse blanks to teach their grinders. They are no-nonsense, hard use knives. To buy one for the looks seems questionable to me. They aren't what you would call refined. Justin is a really good, stand-up guy and a real former ranger.

I have the RD6 and 7 and they get more use than any of my other fixed blades. I think that they are great knives in that they almost beg to be used hard. The owner of Ranger knives is always wonderful to deal with. I’m not sure what else to write other than you’ll never regret the purchase of any of the RD series for Ranger Knives.

I recently got an RD-7. It's an incredible knife for the money. Great design, it chops well and holds an edge, and I really don't think I could break that 1/4" 5160 spring steel if I tried. I plan to order another one with a satin finish when I get the funds.

Justin is great to deal with too.

I have an RD 6 that I absolutley LOVE!! It is a solid knife, great fit and finish. The sheath is probably my least favortite thing about this knife, and I like the sheath. I did order Kydex for it. I loved my Rd 6 so much, that I asked Justin to make me a RD 4 (custom). You get a whole lot of knife when you buy a Ranger knife!! i can not say enough greta stuff about my knife and Justin (he owns Ranger Knives.)

I already have the rd7 and rd9 but really have not had the time to use them. I actually sent them both back to brigade quartermaster becouse the grinds were so uneven and they had no point. Very dissapointed at first so I did not really use them. The ones they sent me back were only a little bit better. I have always been a TOPS guy and I guess was expecting more. I do wish I knew about the flat grind satin ones. They would be nicer looking and have a better point I bet.

Justin at Ranger says that all new RD series knives will be full flat grind. There are some other "upgrades" coming down the pipe that he is keeping tight lipped about.

If you ever have a problem with Ranger Knives you can take it up with Justin. He knows how to take care of a customer.

To me, beauty lies in the functionality of a knife. I am a dedicated Busseholic, and I think that Ranger Knives are beautiful in a utilitarian sense.

Talked to Justin at Blade, and found him to be a very congenial, nice guy, too.

Justin takes good care of his customers!! If you had sent the knives to him, he would have had your knives swuared away!!

Just ordered satin RD-7 flat grind and a little bird. Justin also said he would make custom handles for a couple of my Becker knives.
