Hey Guys..

CR...

I've got 2 RD 9's, 2 RD 7's, 2 RD 6's 1 RD4

These are knives to Beat on. you won't have to worry about breaking them..
I've pounded my RD9 through split hardwood to proove a point to my brother in law..

We literally hammered it through the log like a wedge and it came out in one piece,, no edge damage what so ever..

For the price of the Rangers,, I don't think you can find a knife that compares at that price..

You'll find different models will have different thickness, although I beleive the RDs are typically 1/4" & the rest is 1/8-3/16" (Shank, Shiv, RAKs, & Little Birds). 1095 steel typically & 5160 on the RDs, but Justin will use other steels & handle materials.

They're knives built to be used, not just looked at. I don't think you can find anything as well built for the price, at least, not that's readily available.

if you use the shiv for what its intended for it will not break and if it does break justin will fix or replace it no questions asked.

if you need more beef get one of his 1/4 inchers and if he doesnt have what you want, call him, tell him what you want and in a week or less he'll call you back to tell you its done.

i have worked a lot with justin and he is a great no b.s. type of guy...hell,i even sent him a christmas gift cause he's been so good to all of us on his forum.

i have a lot of rangers and swamprats.i think rangers 5160 high carbon might be stronger.the swamprat might hold a better edge...might.

i have chopped wood all day with my rd-9 and was truly amazed at how well it held its edge.

hey thanks for your help guys. i so far really like justinsdesigns. they are just great looking to me adn functional like i need em to be. anone have anysay on how well their shiv has held up to any work they have put it through? hard core work or jsut basic camp work? thanks for your guys' help.

my shiv is a mirrored finished custom tanto with snakewood handles so it doesnt get much use.

i'd go to the ranger forum at knifeforums and ask around their but i cam already tell you ahead og time that all your going to hear is good things
