Ranger RD vs RAT scales?

I owned and sold a RAT 5 because the scales were just too thick for me. I've been looking at the Ranger RD series and thought the handle profiles looked similar. Anybody own both? How do the handle dimensions compare between the RD knives and the RATS?

TIA for any info.

My RD6 scales are thin enough for my small hands.

But you can always sand them a little no?

Dont quote me, but I think the Rat's are thinner in tang and scale. I only have a RAT-3 and an RD7 currently...but I've owned the RAT-7...the Ranger scales are a bit blockier...Rat's are well-rounded. The Rat's feel smaller in hand for me because of the rounded edges. Also, I believe the handles on most of the Ranger RD series are the same size.

I have both and the RAT feels much better in the hand for me. The RAT seems to be a little better finished than the Ranger. The RAT feels much smaller and feels much better in the hand to me.

I would say that the RD scales are much thicker .I had to thin the scales in my ranger and I have pretty large hands .My (made by Justin)Ranger RD9 is not real pretty there are some fit and finish issues but I knew that going into it they are meant to serve a need and do it well not be art ,that being said RAT has crossed the line in a hard use knife being art as well.
