Hi Guys,
Every once in a while I have to take a break from knife orders and do something just for fun. This was it for me this week. Here is a Ranger RD4 that I bought here on the forums and gave a full TCK upgrade. Here are the specs and mods.
Specs:
Ranger RD4
1/4" 5160 high carbon steel X 4" blade
full flat grind
Tan/brown micarta grips
TCK Mods:
Reprofiled edge-
I thinned the edge ALOT!! on my belt sander. This thing will really slice now! This is, without a doubt, the sharpest Ranger I've ever held.
Penetrator Tip-
After I thinned the edge, this blade was just begging for a thinned point too. I did NOT sharpen the penetrator tip though. Some of my customers have expressed concerns regarding it being a double edge knife, and hence illegal in some places. Its pretty darn close though.
Sculpted grips for better retention, control and comfort.
Thumb notches and enhanced thumb ramp.
Beveled finger choil.
Smoothed all sharp edges (except the one that counts!) You won't get blister's from this knife unless you're a....well never mind, you won't!
Bead blasted finish with black oxide coating, including under the grips. This is NOT a half-assed baked on coating. Do a quick Google search on it to see what it is if you don't already know.
Finally, an OD green custom Kydex sheath with a large Tek-Lok. Can be moved to the other side for left hand carry too. You can also just lash it to your riggin' with the paracord. I provided 6 eyelets for this purpose too.
$150.00 for the whole packaged delivered anywhere in the US and Canada.
Knife will ship USPS Priority Mail, insured, with tracking number.
