Ranger Shank

The RD series, flat ground, would be a better outdoors knife, better cutting profile and more hand filling grip.

I'm not to wild about paracord handles. In my experience, they tend to slip and can easily fray.

Justin of Ranger knives puts out a great knife for the money and he is nice to deal with and stands behind everyone. I have two of his Bowies and they rock.Get one of the RD's ;)

The CS True Flight Thrower might be a cheaper alternative for that. Almost the same specs, different steel of course, and little thicker. There have been reports of it being on the hard side for a thrower, so it could possibly be worked in to a flat utility knife like that.

For serious outdoor use, I myself would look at the other Ranger Knives models, primarily the RDs.
