Ranger vs Mountaineer or?

Been trying to find the "just right" EDC and having been using the Mountaineer, which I think has a nice balance of tools vs reasonable weight and size. However been thinking that I'd like some more functionality but don't want to add too much weight or width. The Ranger may fit the bill as it is not much larger than the Mountaineer, but wanted to get some feedback from those that EDC a 5 layer or a Ranger specifically. Any others I should consider? I like the Explorer but would really like a file, so that won't quite fit the bill. May the Expedition?
Thx

Personally, I think it comes back to the age of question of Effectiveness vs Efficiency, and the 80% rule. I have carried Mountaineer for years, and Ranger briefly just for fun and a change.

I am a big fan of the metal file/saw, and I always tell people if the choice is to be made between a metal file/saw or a woodsaw on a SAK, I would always choose the former since metal file/saw can substitute a woodsaw, but not vice versa. Personally, I don't use the wood saw often enough to keep one handy, but if you do use it all the time, I do see the value of getting a Ranger just for that.

Ck.out the SAK EVO S18....JK caused me to think about getting a SAK! I looked at most of those that I felt made sense for me to EDC! After much thought & comparisons to other SAK's I chose the S18! It's been my edc !! It's not bulky, all the tools are useful, evo grip is secure to hold, one more "little addition"it's yellow" in color!!Why did I mention "color" if you drop it ...yellow color makes it easy to find! I now rest my case!!LOL!
