I've got a NIB 10505 that I bought years ago in a little resale shop. The blade is marked as N690 steel. Everything I can locate on the BM site on this model shows 440C. Did they make there in N690 first for only a short period then switch to 440C? Was this steel just a limited run at one time? If so to either does anyone know what time frame this would have been? I've no idea how long it set in the little shop I haven't a clue when it was made. TIA
Whoops, I was looking back on the BM site again and noticed up in the verbiage it stated that N690 was used in the initial production. I was looking at the bottom on the knife specs and only saw 440C listed. I'm still curious when the model came out and how long N690 was used before the switch if anyone has that info.
Did some more searches and found a post I made about this knife back in 2009 (forgot all about it). The one reply I got was that N690 was used in 07-08 but I did find another post from late 2003 discussing the new BM Red Class offerings and the Rant DP was listed so perhaps this model came out early 2004. I may have answered my own questions but any other info would be appreciated.
