I finished these two Thursday, but haven't had time to shoot photos until tonight.
The blades are 1095, hilts and pommel nuts are sterling, handles are ebony. Blades are fully hardened and tempered.
The 50 cent piece is for scale.
The rapier is 15:1 scale and the parrying dagger is 24:1.
To get an idea of how close the tolerances are, the handle on the dagger is .05" at its widest....and the tang is .03" thick. That makes the handle walls .01" thick.....about as thick as three sheets of white printer paper. The tapered handle ends are only about one sheet of paper thick.

Specs:
Rapier-
BL -3.4"/88mm
OAL - 4.7"/118mm
Blade width and thickness ( mid blade) - 0.10 "/2.5mm -.03"/.8mm
Diamond cross-section
Dagger -
BL - .7"/18mm
OAL - 1.0"/26mm
Blade Thickness ( mid blade) - .035"/.90mm - .02"/.5mm
Diamond cross-section

Beatifully done. Some folks think because they are small they are easy. I know how hard they are to pull off and you did a GREAT job.

I think I know how he does it, he has a bucket full of spare eyes, I know thats what I would need to do such fine detail work.

Stacy, that is very impressive. I know how difficult working in a miniature/micro scale really is, sometimes just finding a way to hold the parts securely is a challenge. My training is in metrology and I worked in the MEMS field, and learning to handle small parts was a challenge, especially since most of what I was working with I couldn't even see any detail with the naked eye!

I would love to see a work in progress of one of these miniatures or even just a few shots of the tools you use for this detailed work.

first he had to craft a very fine net, then wait patiently until the leprechaun came walking down the path and got caught in the net.... Then he had to convince the little fella that he really wanted his tools, not his gold.

Excellent! Well done. I have made minitures, but they were large compared to those of yours. Beautiful work.

HA! I have a hard enough time trying to find a leprechaun at all, let alone one who is a knife maker and is carrying all their tools! Must be the kilt, I heard that it is Irish camo. Or the leprechauns get scared paralyzed when they walk under it!

Seriously, well executed set.

Beautiful pieces, Stacy.... but where on Earth did you find such a large coin!!!! Now that's impressive. You should make a table top outta vit.:p

My daughter and I just had a memorable conversation just now. I asked her, is that a really big coin, or a really small dagger. She had to think about it a minute...

So was it a huge coin?

OT
I don't like the expression 'amazing' but that is the only thing that comes to my mind!
And I truely mean it: that is an amazing job!
