This is a classic example of a Utica salesmans sample, a rare Premium Reverse Gunstock Stockman in excellent condition. This is even more exceptional in that it is hafted with nearly perfect waterfall celluloid. You don't see many examples of this handle material surviving. Tony tells me that the formula for waterfall celluloid has been lost and nobody knows how to duplicate it.

Notice the 4 blade and 3 blade model numbers etched on the master clip reverse side. There is more than enough room for the blades to work in this knife due to the thick center cut liner. Even with all that room, the blades still rub. Ya see, people actually USED knives back in the old days and it was ok if they rubbed(take that you picky safe queen keepers :p )

Download and play this movie to see the nice action in the waterfall celluloid (be patient 4MB+ download)
The wavy fuzzy dark line that looks like water moves as the knife is tilted. Wish you could see this in person.

You R one smart cookie dere RANmeister. How'd you guess Tony was thinkin about makin this guy? DUH!

I forgot to mention that this knife belongs to a good friend of Tony's and it had a broken spring. Tony couldn't stand to see a knife this cool in bad shape so he made a new spring and fixed 'er up. It looks as good as new.

BTW...I added a second movie of the back of the knife as I wiggled it...this waterfall celluloid is very cool.

RAN never misses a trick. Good call. Except doesn't Tony use the prototype stamp instead of a 0? hmmmm?

Very cool knife and thanks for the movie too. Shoot, now all we need is a little background music. Can you whistle or hum Kerry?

Can't wait to see the Bose upgrade to the pattern.

That sure is nice.

I like the "Utica salesmans sample" name. Too bad those days are gone.
