I think it's going pretty high without cause, I have #87 I think in small. My understanding is they just quit numbering them at 200, not that more were never made.

Nice knife, and minty fresh. I do believe there were more than 200 numbered "P" models, though. The price is much higher than I have seen one go for in the past, we'll see where it lands.

At that price I would expect it to at least be one of the graphic P's..a plain is kind of absurd.

Several years ago, I purchased Lg #P192 with box, pouch, etc. for a couple of "C" notes and some change. (Alas, I am missing the birth certificate.) Mine is not NIB but shows reasonable carry wear. Otherwise it is in excellent condition. The eBay knife is now at $749.00!!! Wow! Just Wow!

Anne provided the following info to me here on BF shortly after purchasing my knife:

"We intoduced the older profile Sebenza in mid-1991 and the first approx 200 of these were marked "P" for production because the profiles were machined on a CNC Mill. My best estimate is that P192 was probably made somewhere in late 1991 or early 1992. At that stage of our lives, we had no idea that people would be so interested in the "what, where and when" of our knives and we really didn't keep exact records!

The eBay knife shows a date of Oct. 5, 1992. Perhaps the manufacture date of my knife is much later that I had always thought.

Mr. StJames, in your experience, did CRK usually produce/number the knives in relative numerical order or may they have jumped around a wee bit? I have always wondered about the manufacture date of my knife.

I carry and use this guy now and then. I may have to revisit that after seeing this auction. Here he is. I just trimmed some plastic with it the other day. There are but few safe queens/kings in my castle.

Thanks,
dan :)

Every time I receive an "infraction" God kills a kitten. Honest and wow, just wow. On my first day, too.
