SOLD
FOR SALE
AFCK 800 Knife of the month. In the year 2000, Benchmade issued the Knife of the Month series. Each issue was limited to just 1000 pieces. In March, this 800 was released. The blade is etched with the issue month and year. Its equipped with an ATS-34 blade, combo edge, titanium liners, licensed Spyderco hole and green/black anodized aluminum handles. I have modified the knife by replacing the plastic back spacer with stainless steel standoffs, and replacing the plastic washers (bushings) with brass washers. I will include the original parts for those of you who wish to reinstall them (IMHO, I cant imagine why anyone would). The blade is true to center when closed, and no side play when opened. Yet it moves freely enough to open with a flick of your wrist. Ive applied blue loctite to the set screw, so you can remove it but no adjustment should be necessary. This knife is mint. Never carried or sharpen. The only time it left the house is when I wanted to show it off. I bought the 800 new from a local gunsmith who also sells knives. He had it for some time, for I just bought this in the summer of 2004. I couldnt find the box so I must have throw it away thinking I would never sell this knife. Im an avid fan of Benchmade and have been collecting since Les Asis first started in So Cal with Pacific Cutlery Corp. I in fact have one of his first Balisong Butterfly knives back when he made them by hand. It may have to come up for sale also. I wouldnt think to part with this AFCK or any other Benchmade I own but Ive recently been inflicted with a sickness relating to INFI!
For those of you who arent familiar with this knife or AFCKs you can visit this website http://zknives.com/knives/folding/benchmade/bmafck.shtml Zvis does a excellent job of discussing AFCKs and this knife in particular. I dont agree with his comments on ATS-34 not being as good as 154-CM ( their steel makeup is almost identical ) but other than that I would have to agree that the AFCK is one of the finest folders made.
Ok thats the pitch, now for the sale. Price that is.
