Rare Earth Magnets

Try http://www.leevalley.com/ They have rare earth magnets including disks, rings, and rods. They also have cups for the disks which provide mounts as well focusing the force. They also have some good application notes on the magnets.

Hi Rene,

You might also try www.wondermagnet.com as a source. I have gotten them there for about $1.00 apiece for the tiny gold plated ones.

However, It would be nice, and I think appropriate, for you to contact R.J. Martin and/or Bud Nealey and tell them that you plan to use their idea and thank them for doing the research and coming up with the idea. Maybe even give them credit in your advertising for the idea you are incorporating in your product.

Maybe you've already done this and I'm just sticking my nose in where it doesn't belong.
If so, I apologize.

Hope this helps,
GaryB

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember seeing a hunting knife from the '50's that had a magnet sewn into the leather sheath...Is this really a new idea I wonder...

Thanks guys, I have found a source...You have all been very helpful..I wish I would have found Bladeforums a year ago....There is so much information on knifemaking, and it seems that everyone is willing to help each other.
Imagine in this day and age....Kindness!
