My grandfather was an avid collector of almost anything and everything and spent years traveling the world spending his fortune on fine items. During his career he was a sportswriter, which amassed him an almost shrine like collection of every big name in every sport. After being a sportswriter he started a marketing business for sporting goods. I saw many J. Martiini knives in his collection growing up and for the most part they were what you would typically see on the internet and ebay. Except for the one I inherited after his passing.. I haven't been able to find a single reference to a product like this anywhere. I have a J. Martiini "machete" that has a 17.5" blade and is 22" overall with some sort of burly wood handle as well as a full length leather sheath. The handle and blade are in a truly immaculate condition without so much as a fingerprint on them. On the blade is engravings of a countryside with a cabin in the background and a "teepee"-like structure. There are also 2 sleighs being pulled by what looks like reindeer. The artwork on the sheath includes more "teepees" as well has a few house-like structures on trees with ladders leading up to the doors. Does anyone have any information on this item? Year made? Rarity? Value? Thanks! Ryan P.S. I realize these aren't great pictures and if anyone has any info on them it, i could take better ones
