Has there ever been a truly rare knife for you? Something you've only seen in person once or maybe only handled once. Perhaps at a knife show or knife gathering? Any company, doesnt matter! For me, I will start with a 151213 gec. This was a typical boys knife with end caps. For that year, when I did got into gecs, I eventually ended up accumulating the single spear, the sheepsfoot, all with endcaps but never the clip again like i got from LastRodeo LastRodeo . In fact, I have never seen another ebony clip with end cap in single or with a pen. I did grab a nifebrite clip and pen with end cap as a Second at a rendezvous once. But ive never seen another example in ebony in that configuration, its not even on the site. This the example shown sans endcap as part of the run. What is a knife you have never seen again?

Supposedly, GEC keeps one of every knife they make. These were the last two #53 Cubans I was able to secure to complete my collection of Cuban stockmans. According to the records, they only made two of each. So if GEC actually has one of each, then "these are it."

You got that from me? I don't remember having that knife in my collection... but it wouldn't be the first time I forgot something like that.

Yes I did bud, at a very fair price too, circa 2015* of course. I even have it listed in my books. there were weeks where I received some sort of 15 every other day in my beginning frenzy.

Only seen pictures, and I am 99.9999...% sure I will never own one, unless I win it in a GAW. (It is infinitely unlikely someone will hold a GAW for one.) and even less likely I'll ever see one of either "in the flesh".
GEC #46 Whaler, and waynorth waynorth 's #97(?) SFO 4 bladeTexas Scout/Camp Knife.

Another I've only seen photos of, am 150% sure I will never own or handle, is a pre-1890 two blade Russell Barlow with full blades, and a useable "3" (Buck 301-ish) to "5" pull on both blades.

The Camp knife shows up quite frequently on evil bay!

A scagel folder Paul Basch let me hold and open/close. I just had to have one so I bought a Dave Shirley version to scratch the itch :)

I saw a Bob Cargill barrel knife at a knife show in St. Louis a couple of years ago. No pics of the one I saw, unless it was the same knife that's in this pic. It looked a lot like this IIRC.

Here's a pic of a different barrel knife:

French Kate and Ben Hogan are inextricably tied by history and lore.
In 2011, GEC released 25pcs serialized and 36pcs no serial number French Kate dressed in Ebony Wood.
I have a #13 Ben Hogan lockback Ebony Wood released in 2012 ... but no French Kate.
I would likely virtually hand over my wallet to whomever has the #13 Ebony Wood French Kate.
While certainly not rare by standards thus far posted ... there is only one(1) #13 Ebony FK in the whole world.
... and I'd like to own it, but after almost 11yrs the reality is that my chances are slim.
