My Aunt Rita has a Sago palm (female) and her neighbor has a male Sago , well I guess they had some lovin' cause her Sago had babies !
From what I have heard this is a pretty rare event if it was an unintended "mating".
Sorry for the ugly pics , my camera phone isn't all that great sometimes.

Here is my Mom pointing at the very wierd looking "nest" , it looks like something from an alien being like a pod hehe.

Here is the "nest again"

My Mom bravely opens the nest , lots of needlelike spikes to watch out for

I took that one home , going to try to plant this little guy and see what happens.
If anyone has any advice or pointers feel free to post a reply.

Sago palms were left behind when the Martians were defeated in their attempt to conquer the Earth.

you .. are .. now .. being .. colonized

Cool looking pod.

I was curious what the pollinators for this plant are, so did a quick search. The first few articles were pretty generic, they just said "insects". Some plants have surprising pollinators, like bats, or very elaborate mechanisms for attracting insects or birds.

That's freakin' creepy.

Has anyone called Tom Cruise?
