Greetings all,

As I gather from this thread: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...es-Knives-History-Timeline-To-Date-!!!/page2?

These aren't too common. I don't think I've seen another USA unit posted here. This is serial # 58. I picked it up at a show about 15 years ago, and its been lurking in amongst my collection for some time. As you can see, it also has the original 'Field Survivor' Brochure (probably about as rare as the knife itself) and I have a letter from the lady herself, Mrs. Anne Reeve dated 11/12/97 detailing the knife. According to the letter, #58 was made in March, 1989. It was one of 80 USA Pachmayr knives (although another CRK reference here lists there were only 63 USA knives). There were roughly 28 'South African' Knives. The sheath is marked 'Made in South Africa' and was supplied by their maker there. This was of course, the base for the Project I.

In any event, I am culling down my safe queens, but as these seem to be pretty rare, I figured I'd post/share here before possibly finding it a new happy home via the classifieds (unless I come to my senses first:D).

In any event, enjoy!!!

I used to post pics of my #17 Pachmayr Field Survivor all the time. I sold it last fall for a good amount. It was a great knife, but I ended up getting 3 CRK with what I sold it for, so it was a good deal all around.

It's the early version of the Project 1. The guard is slightly different ( longer ), it has different serrations, and also a much longer swerve. Mine was also made in South Africa.

beautiful knife! That's a LOT of stock removal...no wonder Chris Reeve came up with s30v.
