Actually it's the first hidden tang knife I'd post. The blade was for something else, but I didn't like it. I just kept going and this came out.

Way to not give up on a blade:cool:

She is Georgeous...Really a nice looking package over all.

for some reason all i see is the handle? it looks good! there it is! must be my puter would'nt load. hey i like that laplander look!

Look'n good Sando, I'm glad you finished it out. I've had plenty of those....oh wait, I still do, they're sitting in the shop.

That grind looks awesome. I have the hardest time stopping them before the spine and looking so clean and crisp like that.

Keep 'em coming Sando :)

Sure does look great, fella! That is one of those free mind and grind jobs that come out to "Dang, that's it!"

Nick,

On those grind lines, I should have mentioned this. I used waterstones. I went to about 220 on the grinder (Vagnino style if you know what I mean) then switched to stones. 1000 and 2000.

However, that S30V needs so much work it opened up the grain and made an ugly spot at 2000. I went back to 1000 to clean it out, figuring I did something. Then it happened again at 2000. So I finished the knife with 600 and 1500 paper.

I'm going to stick with the stones, tho. They're great after the grinder to get everything straight and flat. Then move to paper for the final finish.

Well Steve I gotta say I think that's my favorite knife of yours so far. That is way freakin cool man. Beautiful blade and finish, and that handle is out of this world. Everything works together really well, you should be very pleased! :D I sure like your results with the stones. No, haven't sprung for my own yet but you sure are pushing me that way. Keep em coming!

I was going to keep this knife for myself. I really liked the balance and feel.

Today I was off to the shipping room to send to Tess for another great, custom sheath and Bingo --- somebody bought it.

I suppose I should have said no, but my wife would kill me.

I guess this sort of thing happens. Do you guys ever get to keep one you really like?

Steve

Fantastic-looking knife!

I gotta ask; what are "party tray spacers?"

Burchtree,

Party Tray Spacers is my term for Polyethylene Terephthalate. It's a plastic that forms a consistent thickness and great durability. It can be used as a buffer zone between materials of differing expansion coefficients.

I generally mine for this substance by fishing around in the backs of closets and pantries. In it's raw form it looks like a party tray for cold cuts or perhaps cheese.

Steve

That's a great looking knife. Part of its immediate attractiveness is the purely functional design. It looks like a real cutter.
