Saw this on an auction site, this is the description
''This is an early unmarked BK&T Brute model blade with an EDMF knuckle & skull crusher handle. The blade was given to EDMF many years ago & was assembled by EDMF in February of 2009. The knife has been in my collection since then. This is a one of a kind very collectable knife. Included with the knife is a finely made leather scabbard with the 02/09 date stamped on the back of it''

Buy It Now was 500$

I was intrigued by it, thought I'd share in case others might be interested. So is this ''real''?

No, its not.

What a load of processed grass, hay, and water.

"Could Be" a home made/hand made one-ofF, that someone is trying to make big money off of ??? IDK ???

Not sure what the deal is, but that handle is not a BKT handle, though that blade might be a BK1, its been modified.

That handle is stoopid, and the price can kiss my ass.

:D

Dumbest looking hunk of garbage I've seen. Handle must weigh twice what the blade is. I guess that means the Becker-handled war-sword I'm working on is going to be worth BIG bucks because it's one of a kind and rare lol. The seller needs to have his "collection" taken away for trying to make BS like this up.

IIRC, the EDMF grip was cast out of aluminum, so it probably doesn't weigh that much. I believe that EDMF would rehandle all kinds of different knives with their own grip if you wanted them to. I wish that I knew whether or not EDMF was still in business so I could get one of their Smatchets. I've always wanted one.

I'm going against the grain here, but I like the rehandled Brute. I've always enjoyed a good knuckle duster blade. I wouldn't buy one for $500 dollars, nor would I desecrate a Brute in such a way, but now that it's done, I like the results. :D

It might be real EDMF did make cast handles and would put them on any knife. You could ask them. http://edmfknives.com/

Well, there you have it.
Its "real"..but not worth $500 dollars. Maybe worth around $200 to the right person. It says on the EDMF sight they can add a handle to your knife for the massive sum of $40. I should think that bead blasting and regrinding the handle of the Brute, plus the uber cool handle took some value from it...but, different strokes for different folks. It looks like a nasty fighter though.
Maybe a CS Trailmaster with one of those grill adjusters on it would be cool to...or the BK9 for that matter.

Well all I can say is I am glad it is rare. I would hate to see another brute chopped up to make one of those things.

I wouldn't mind a BK-9 with a sharpened swedge mounted in one of those hilts, edge up, like an old BC-41 Trench Knife. Just for funsies. I'd pay $40 to get that done.

He does do rehandles on different blade i own one. Well a few:D

Shoulda used a Busse blade. Use parts from a knife that never gets used to make a knife that will never be used.

it's real enough.

you want more?

i've several EDMF blades. good stuff. they put handles on stuff. the brute? looks more than real to me.

now, by "real" do you mean authentic Becker? course not. do you mean custom one off? yes. about as real as any mods you guys do.

is a magnum camp made by camillus drilled for a pin lock sheath real? well, really not :) if someone is trying to pass it off as authentico beckero

Just saw this knife up for sale again and was wondering the same thing TB was.. forum search is a wonderful thing..
