Welcome to the forums.

I don't know much about tomahawks let alone the value of something like that.

NIce Hawks, how long have you had them? Sorry I have no info to help
My mom was manager at gun shop 13 years or more and she knew the dealer from atc i cant remember her name but she snatched it up from her because its the first one made and the rest of the 6 in total went to navy seals. it was custom made by atc for them and this was the prototype of the 5 made for them. it was in early 2000's

same thing i said to him its a custom hawk so i cant find info but i do appreciate knowing what its made from ! thank you

I found a knife store catalog listing for the T3, from 2002. Would you believe $650 new? It's said to be non-magnetic and non-sparking, for explosive ordnance disposal, etc.

$650.00

AMERICAN TOMAHAWK T3 TOMAHAWK
Peter LaGana's Vietnam Tomahawk was one of the cutlery industry's most significant contributions to the equipment arsenal of servicemen in the Vietnam War, as it incorporated tremendous utility, unparalleled close quarter battle (CQB) functionality, and true American legacy in a single offering. Thousands of Vietnam Tomahawks worked the jungles of Southeast Asia from 1967 through the war's end, saving lives and serving their owners with silent faithfulness in combat.

Titanium Tactical Tomahawk ATC-VT-T3
Head Material: Beta-Ti

Spike Length: 3.25"
Head Length: 8.5"
Hardness:
Heat Treatment: Differential
Finish: Bead Blast
Handle: 14" Black Acetal

While tens of thousands of reproductions from a host of manufacturers have been made over the past 30 years, not one has given proper tribute to its original design or, more importantly, proper reward to its original designer, Peter LaGana. Now, after three decades, Peter LaGana and the original Vietnam Tomahawk are back!!!

The Tatical Titanium Tomahawk is a product variant of the Vietnam Tactical Grade Tomahawk. It was purpose designed for special application situations, such as Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Long Term Sea use, and Hostile Enviroment use when a non-sparking implement is needed. The head of the T3 is made of hardened titanium for impressive toughness & durability.

YOU ARE THE MAN !!! thank you so much ! i appreciate it alot

so its a link from 2002 right? so thats old price? and does it matter mine is 001 because in the pic u posted it is number 005 i believe and there is only supposed to be 6 made total, is this not true then? and this one was supposed to be custom made for 5 navy seals, mine is suppossed to be the prototype to show seals before the final 5 were produced, any more info on rarity and todays value on it. and do u know anything about the other two or there value?

generally. the number is the prototype number. yours is the 001 prototype, and the other identical prototypes would have successive numbers. the actual production models would either be numbered or not numbered. prototypes are almost always numbered, as they are sent out for field trial and testing.

i would bet against the seal story though. someone added that along the way for fluff. someone may have claimed they were made for special purposes uses, such as the list above, and was interpreted/twisted by a laymen as being made special for "navy seals"

i dont see $650 new or used, prototype or not. prototypes generally do not fetch more than low number production runs of items. thats not always true, but usually.

i would also bet that there were many more than 5 made. there may have been 5 total prototype sent out for testing. sounds more reasonable.

i would also venture a guess that the tomahawk market has changed so drastically since 2002, before the "tactical tomahawk" explosion. the style and looks that are in demand are very different now. so i personally wouldnt be expecting a huge bidding war, especially considering there is no info out there, and they arent "sought after"

let us know what happens if you decide to put it out there and see what it brings.
