Rarest kershaw?

Hi guys.

I lurk here mostly, and thought I would make a thread on something that interested me.

I'm always coming across pictures, and reading about discontinued models I've never seen before. This made me wonder: What is considered the rarest kershaw out there? I know that I don't know as much as a lot of you guys, so do you post what is, in your opinion the rarest?

Also, if you can find any, post pictures please. I always enjoy looking at older blades. :)
 
First of all Jon, welcome to the Kershaw thread and Bladeforums. I will give this some thought today while working and post some pictures later. I am a collector and really go for the vintage stuff. This will be a fun thread , thanks for starting it.

Back from the days of Pete Kershaw (early 1990's) comes this Opinel-like, KAI Japan manufactured, twisty collar locking Kershaw 2950.

The handle is resin with rubber inserts on both sides. The locking twisty collar locks the knife open. There is a hidden backspring that softly holds the blade closed and half open.

Can I get that in ZDP and carbon fiber? :o
 
25th anniversary... with Ken Onion/Tom Mayo Finishing the first 100-200. I'm not sure if they went any further than 200 on this intended 500 run. They were $600 MSRP

I've seen them. Oh yes!

They are in Tualatin. Check.

They are in the glass cases out front. Check.

But, are sure that they are yours?

This one was rare, no one ever figured out who did the carved handle, not even Pete. I finally gave up and sold it.

These are very rare and at the top of my want list. Anyone that finds me this set will be my friend for life. Don't look at me like that !! It's a good thing !!

Hey, I got offered a box about that size with a glass insert in the lid with Kershaw etched in the corner. need one?
 
I would certainly take it if it were offered, they are the perfect size to put a few in and hang on the wall.
