Hey all,
Is there an equivalent knife to the RAT1 as far as shape and style made by a USA or German company???

One of my friends loves my RAT 1 but his ignorance is keeping him from purchasing one because it is made in Taiwan. he only buys knives USA and Germany stamped on them

any ideas, other than stamp USA or Germany on the knife???

im asking for his sake & for my own curiosity

Noting wrong with supporting the USA. He is prolly going to be hard pressed to get a similar knife at that price made in the USA or Germany... Maybe he can find a Boker?

Keep in mind that alot of Boker's stuff is Chicom and ROC made.

As for an American made equivalent, the Buck Vantage is probably the closest thing you can get.

Yes they are made over seas, but for a USA company that does make USA knives so...

Alas, more Rat 1's for the rest of us.

Here is a comparison shot I took for another thread somewhat recently, if you want to see them side by side. From right to left: RAT-1, Griptilian, Blur, ZT0350, Skyline, Delica, Leek, Mini-Griptilian

Benchmade 710 is a pretty good candidate. The bm has a longer blade and its lighter. Both ride slim in the pocket. I actually got my 710 because I thought it would have a similar feel to the Rat. I still carry and thoroughly enjoy both.

I have both the Blur and the Buck Vantage. I love the Blur, but the Vantage is a well thought out knife. I like the stone washed non- coated blade.

That green Blur sure is pretty.
