Hey guys! So my Rat1 has been serving me well for a long time, and it is time for some new scales! My scales on it recently had a mishap, and I know alot of you love the rat1 so I figured maybe somebody had a set of scales laying around? Or someone could make a set that won't break my bank. I figured I would have better luck in the becker forum...well, becausr you guys are awesome. I really want some desert tan scales if you know of anybody that makes em, or has em.

I can't offer a service I don't have, but you might check with Saints Cutlery (fleabay dealer) about Micarta scales, or you know, get some Micarta/G10 and get to work. I honestly would not do my Rat 1 in wood in a million years.

Get some surplus desert cammies (official acronym is MCCUU, Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform) and make Micarta out of those, that would look beast.

Tons of options, but those are my recommendations, and what I would do if I had the option to do it/need for it.

I can make micarta, and can probably make some, only problem is time, and I have only done fixed blades, so I don't wanna mess it up,haha

Treat it like a pair of BK2 scales, just do the same on both sides and then put the screws in for the last time. Should look like it came from the factory. Except more bad ass.

No offense, but this will probably get moved with no Becker content.

There's a guy in the "services offered" exchange forum that's doing custom scales for Kershaw / ZT. He could probably do those, assuming it's a flat back and not something with multiple levels of machining on the back.

Ohh, sorry, I thought I could post off topic stuff as long as put that it was off topic, haha. I like the advice and such of you becker guys...I will post it in general discussion. And thanks guys!

Correction, you shouldn't start a thread asking for marital advice unless your 14 and/or 2 are in danger because of it.

It would be more like this: because of marital problems (which I really dont have--she just bought me a 14 and leather sheath for my 2) i am in danger from my wife who has my 14 and 2. She always says the more knives I buy the more options she has when I make her mad. lol

This is a very good reason to avoid arguments. :D

Back on topic: We want pics when you get those scales, and WIP pics if you make them! And if you make them, do some extra for a BK, just for good measure. :D
