I just made this semi-horizontal sheath for a customer. It is for a RAT-3 and a firesteel. What do y'all think about this set up?

This firesteel set up is mine, so it is not the one the new owner will use.

Looks good. I like the classic leather sheath thing. It would be nice to see how it looks on-belt.

per request, here is a similar model on my belt

This one is a "second quality" because it has a scratch in the middle.

Thats a really sweet design ,I reckon it would work well with an Izula and a 4 too.I must admit I'm a sucker for good leather.

Very nice sheath, but I think the sheath should extend to encompass more of the knife.

I really like the way that rides on the belt. I think the coverage of the knife is perfect for that style sheath. I don’t like one piece sheaths that only have 1” of handle sticking out.

Very nice looking sheath. How did you do the retention?

It is called "friction retention" that just means you make the sheath just the right size (not too big or too small) and let the leather do it's thing. Having the proper size welt is also a big factor. I have made over 2,000 sheaths so it comes with experience I guess.
