Rat Chat

Some issues have been brought to my attention. So time for a serious chat.

Rat chat is not password protected. Its the way it is. It makes it easier to access and that's just the way it works. With that said.
If anyone is caught impersonating someone from the forum by purposely logging in with their screen name, real name or any other obvious distinguishable charcter that resembles the persons name you WILL be banned, indefinately, from chat. This is not a threat. Its a promise.


We are adults (most of us) and this childish behavior will not be tolerated.

Wow really? Have people been logging on pretending to be someone else? ...

Pretty bad when a chat room needs a disclaimer like this.
 
Katie, do you have access to IP addresses of those who login?

There is no point in making the room password protected as anybody on BF can find the password, just as they found the link for the chatroom.

If it becomes an issue, we should require login registration with a confirmed email.
 
Or we can be adults. I'm certainly not above a good web prank or hack. but there are some places it's just not needed. This is one of them.

to become password protected the chat room cost $$
 
i have access to ip address and Chat logs. I also have eyes and ears everywhere kids. The chat was upgraded but I'm not sure how much i'm willing to upgrade bc i'm not a babysitter.

and no no one has actually done damage by doing this. it was brought to my attention that it COULD be done and I'm warning people now that I WILL ban them from Chat if they do it. hell I might ban you for THINKING about it ;). Yeah I'm that awesome that I can hear your thoughts.

CHAT is a courtesy that I extend to the members here b/c I enjoy the company of all of you. Don't make me have to close it down.

Really we usually just talk crap about how you don't return emails, shut threads down, & never like our design ideas. It's really a good time you should check it out sometime. :)

Wish I could, can't chat. Says I have to download more stuff and I learned my lesson about that.
