Recommendation? Rat color - Does the black paint holds?

hey, I want to but the Rat 2 2D and I’ve wanted to know is the red paint on the blade and the clip will hold even after abusing him a bit.

And also, which color do you think is the sexiest?
 
The Rats' coating stinks cuz it's not DLC or Cerakote. Don't be bothered by this though. Buy it, use it...abuse it even. Give it tha bizzness!

The DLC coating to my Kabar Dozier looks very similar. What sucked is I got a chip in the coating the first time I cut cardboard. It has since earned the rest the proper way.

No blade coating will survive hard use or abuse.
 
If it chips, it damn sure ain’t DLC.

OP - which is the sexiest? :rolleyes: How many threads are you going to start before you buy something???

Just jump in already. Stop being so analytical and indecisive. It’s a $30-$50 knife, not a car.

Yeah, agreed, just buy a knife already.
 
Tomopill, no coating holds up with much use. Blades get scratched with use. It is not a big deal really. I personally don't care for painted blades. Buy yourself a couple knives that catch your fancy.... enjoy, try them out, cut something..... Just be ready to buy some more if you like knives.
