Does anyone have the RAT Comprehensive Survival Kit with the RC6? It seems like a really good deal to me. I am in need of a lot of what is in the kit and if bought separately, may be equal to or more than simply buying the kit. Would also serve as a good excuse to get a RC6 lol.

Truly does seem like a good value, though off hand I only recall seeing somebody post on the pocket kit.

I was looking at these a while ago and checked out the costs.
I shopped around for the best price on the components or their equivalents, plus the knife. I think it came up $20 less than the RAT kit, until I factored in shipping from multiple vendors.

Long story short, it's a good buy if you don't have the stuff already.

I'd get exactly what I want and need if I just ordered everything separately, though paying 6 different shipping costs is a pain and somewhat of a waste.

Is there any reason not to get it? I know that Jeff isnt going to put cheap junk in it. Is there another kit that will do a better job?

For the money, I'm not sure what would be better than this. You can spend more, though the increased cost is mainly just because you are getting more. http://www.preparedpilot.com/product_info.php?products_id=28 That one includes a ton of stuff, though not sure if it is worth the price tag.

There may be some better first aid kits out there, but the RAT comp one includes a lot of stuff. Will have to put together an order on some site to see what it'd cost if I got exactly the things I felt I needed.

On a quick roundup of what I'd buy, either in the above kit or in general, it seems I'd be spending around $300. Though that is excluding the knife and replacing it with mainly a tarp and a pot/pan set. Another option is to get the RAT kit, which is still a good deal, and to pick up the other few things I'd want/need. I'd still spend $300 or so, though not have to deal with ordering from half a dozen places.

The only reason not tog et it is if you have most of the stuff already. Sure, there's other things you'll want to add, but for a basic kit to add whatever you want in particular, it's a great starter kit.

Seems I can't PM you either, sent you an email.
Registered users can't PM, you have to be a paying member.

Ah. Seems I may just have to pony up the money. I'm on here enough to make it worth while lol.

The kits are likely one of if not the best on the market, especially with the quality of products that RAT is about. I haven't handled one, but once you add your personal touch, I am sure it will be perfect.

thanks riz, Ive seen one like that from equipted to survive, both are way out of my price range. luckely the comprehensive kit isnt, I figured it would be a great starting point to build on.

I think im going to get it and see what I can learn. thanks guys!

what dealers are carrying these anyway? can one be ordered without the knife (since I already have that part of it)

It is a great deal if you do not own an RC6 yet ,if you have a 6 then you go to the E&E kits to add to the RC6...
That is what I did , LOL
