Hey guys. So i got my IZULA a few days ago and i must say this is one really nice knife. I have been EDCing it since i got it and its light weight and size make it a perfect small EDC fixed blade. It rides in my pocket and i dont even notice its there. First impressions of this knife where great. Perfect job on the finish of the blade, it sat well in the hand unwrapped but after i wrapped it in paracord, it felt a little more beefier and controlled. I haven't had the chance to really go to work on the knife yet but next week we are removing a wall from my house and putting insulation in the walls and re-wiring so it should see its fair amount of work there. I have used it to sharpen pencils, open boxes and mail, cut hard plastic cord off a box and carve a point to a stick. Also made some fuzz sticks today. The blade came pretty sharp, shaved my arm with a little bit of effort. Got my sharpmaker in yesterday so i gave it a few strokes on the fine rods and it goes right through paper now easily with no effort. Shaves my arm better too. It fits tight in the sheath and even if you shook the knife upside down, it wouldn't fall out. Sheath is nice, i just wish it had a pocket clip but im getting one made so no worries there.

If anyone has been looking for a small EDC fixed blade, this is it. Its a great knife.

Thanks to everyone here on the forums for introducing me to a great company that makes great blades and thanks to Jeff Randall and everyone at R.A.T for making these great tools. This is my first R.A.T.....it wont be my last :D

Nice cord wrap!

My Izula is around my neck everyday now, one of the best user knives I have.

Do the knife and sheath sit concealed in a pocket? Do you attach the sheath to your pants in some way?

Its completely concealed in my front right jeans pocket. No clip or anything i just drop it in my pocket. One of the custom sheath makers here on the forums is making me a custom clip that will attach to the factory sheath so that i can clip it onto my jeans and the knife and sheath will ride in the inside of my pocket

that sounds like a good idea. i just wear mine on the belt. my pocket space is already taken.

I have been holding off on a Izula as I don't carry FB's much, and have a Becker Necker that fills the role an Izula would. However, just checked out the folder after its mention here and I think I'll need one of them.

i know how you feel. i was hesitant to getting a small fixed blade. but after i got my izula i really like small fixed blades. and i am lookin forward to getting the izula folder as well.

who are you getting to make that pocket clip for the Izula? I have been thinking of getting something like that for my Izula since I also carry it in my pocket.

Guys, I'm sure it's buried here somewhere and I just haven't found it ... could one of you give me a pointer to the best online source of directions for that cord wrap? Much appreciated!

On the Izula page of the RAT Cutlery website, right at the bottom. CLICK :)

I went a slightly different route with mine though.

I'm angry that I can't EDC my Izula. The city next to me outlaws any fixed blade knife. My 3.5" folders are fine, but even a 1" fixed blade will put you in jail. Isn't it great, the laws in place that turn law abiding citizens into evil criminals.
