Who has one of the original Rat/ESEE pack kits that came with the knife and the firestarter?

Yes that is the one, if anyone has one and for some reason needs a large camping package instead PM me. For some reason I think I need one of these things terribly bad. To the guys who have them, are they as nice as I have them pictured in my head.
 
I'm pretty happy with mine - it carried a surprising amount of stuff.
I looped the molle straps through a 2" D ring to make it easier to attack a strap for baldric carry. I'd take a pic but it's in the truck tucked inside my "get outta the Dodge" bag.

great little kit tho i did do some mods.
since this pix was taken removed the messenger bag strap and used a braided 30' length of paracord. also bought a esee6 sheath and replaced the sheath that came with pack, which didnt hold the knife secure-thus the shock cord treatment ya see here(not too fond of the "stock" setup sheath).
from everything ive read about the alterations esee made after putting out a thread for recommendations for forum members, id think you'd be better off just waiting till the new version, made in usa becomes available. sorry, no pix of the currents mods. pack is in oregon, i am not...
 
I really like the looks of those. I think it would be a good thing to have along when I am fishing. It would beathaving to carry a bigger pack. Of course I carry a pack any way but it has all of my fishing gear in it. Most of the time when I go fishing I will park the car and start walking and fishing. I usually end up away from the vehicle for about 8 hours at a time.

One of these days I will find someone with one of these that wants to get rid of it. It is one of those things I have to have before I die.
 
LWILLIAMS, hope you didn't miss the link above? you can still buy it! just not with a RAT logo. Lost Mountain still makes it... just doesn't come with a knife, fire kit or RAT/ESEE logo.

It's literally The Exact Same Pack.
 
Yes I have looked into the packs but I want the kit just as it came from Rat and not have to build my own, which I may end up having to do unfortunately. Hell you cant even find these things on Egay and they have everything.
 
I keep watching and even posted in the wanted section. I offered up a huge complete backpacking package for one and didnt so much as get a bite. I will keep watching though.
