RAT fire kit/HEST

I apologize if this is one of those repeated questions but I couldn't seem to find the answer anywhere. Will the RAT fire kit fit into the HEST handle ? Looked at the kit on KSF site but couldn't find any measurements for either the compartment or kit. Thanks for the help.

no its pretty big. I think you can put the one that comes with the Izula in there though

Take the top of the firestarter tool off, you will see a philips screw, unscrew the magnesium rod and the rod fits perfectly inside the handle. Add kindling so it doesn't rattle side to side

heh ... nice ryp....

i have a rat magnizium one that i cut down to fit , and has a slip ring i can put on it so i can acutaly hold such a small rod... threw in some tender and it works pretty good...

If you put the fire kit on a piece of wood......walk backwards about twenty paces... Hold the HEST at arms length...Look at them at the same time ,Hey it fits , handle and all

hahaha never thought of that method. I had no idea the kit was that big until I saw the pic somberbear provided.

basic circular signate? i think its called... i found a video on youtube. then i just filled the center/used as a mandrel and built it around it.
