Rat Fire Kit Idea

They don't last forever, several people here have replaced them already if IIRC. I like this idea, but you could also just use a set screw in the side of the body. A small allen head is all you'd need to change it.

Yes, I thought about a small set screw, but small set screws and an aluminum handle really doesn't sound like a long lasting set up to me. I think you will end up striping those threads out pretty quick taking it down and putting it back together. Now if the handle is steel, that's different, and more expensive and heavier.

Also, if you wreck or lose and o-ring, they are common in any hardware store and cheap to replace. You could even keep a spare in the handle.

I like the idea of a compression fitting. Would it be possible to tool the whole setup using aluminum?

I like the idea of a replacable rod in that nifty handle. I am not sure how hard it would be to heat up the glue so it releases its hold and then inserting a new piece. If that is doable with a heat gun than it is a non issue to me. I have no desire to take it apart and put it back together unless it neads replaced. That is how stuff tends to break on me when I need it.

Thanks for taking the time to get the thoughts rollin.
