Does RAT offer a misch metal flint replacement for the RAT Fire Kit?

I noticed inside the RAT Fire Kit there is a screw which I assume removes the misch metal flint, but I don't want to remove it unless I know it will not mess up the seal of the container.

Is replacing the misch metal flint simply a matter of removing that screw and then screwing in a new one?

I do not need to replace the flint yet. Just want to know if it is possible and have a replacement on hand if it is. I use this little thing quite a bit so it will eventually get worn down.

They did have the replacement rods on the RAT web site but I don't seem to be able to locate them now. I reckon we'll have to pick them up from dealers once they hit the pipeline.

No, he sells both. He specifically says they are Misch rods and this is the description of how they work:

These firesteels are made with misch metal, an alloy of rare earth metals that does more than just create sparks. What comes off these firesteels when you scrape them are more like molten globs of metal, burning much longer than a spark from a flint. They burn so long that you can stand up, scrape the firesteel, and watch the globs bounce on the ground.

Sounds familiar to me lol!
