kutmaster--camillus in celluloid[?] --cold steel carbon v--&gec in horsecut bone
the kutmaster is the grandpa with the camillius & cold steel coming along about 1995. the much huskier gec is 2007. it's no doubt that the slimmer blades are more efficient at squirrels & one can see the carbon v has been bloodied the most. always had good edge holding with the cold steel but the gec is handling the rabbits now & sometimes a little cutting when boning deer.

How do Kutmasters hold up?
I've been eyeballing some of there stuff for a while but haven't heard any feedback.

the kutmasters i have used [one bone -one delrin] are excellent in the initial blade profile. remember these type knives were for light duty on small animals, a task at which they excelled.the older kutmasters dull faster than the cold steel & i have.nt used the camillus enough to truly compare it to the kuts. however i have done extensive edge durability on the gec 1095 & would be surprised if it did'nt outlast the others by a large margin. i sharpened a gec lockback that i sent to my son in the airforce & even on the dmt diamonds i had to "get down " on that flat grind to get metal to move. although gec states the 1095 comes out at 58 r.r. that little knife felt more like 60 r.r. one thing is for sure--either gec is really putting out some tuff 1095 or i'm aging at a geometric pace reducing my hand strength.
