Rat Izula any good?

I really dig the look of the Rate Izula, especially wrapped in paracord. Since there isn't a search function for standard members, I can't really research this knife as much as I would like.

So, how is the fit and finish of this knife and overall quality?
How is the steel in terms of rust/corrosion resistant, edge retention, and ease of sharpening?
Is it small enough to carry EDC?
Is paracord easy to find and cheap?
I read the black is prone to chipping. Is this common?

Also I was about to purchase the FFG Syderco Delica but I came across the Rat Izula. Should I go with the Rat Izula or the Spydie?

The izula is very well liked around these parts...its a very popular knife...its got great F&F, comes super sharp, the coating is high quality stuff, i own one personally and its a really worker...its also backed by a fantastic no questions asked warranty...so you really cant go wrong buying one...also paracord averages about 7-10 bucks for 100ft...if you get the izula with the kit, its comes with a bit paracord, 6ft IIRC...

Man. You got to love no questions asked warranties. Right now I could only afford one new knife. The Spydie FFG Delica would be a great first Spydie and I would probably use it more often since I can just slip into my pocket BUT the Rat Izula is awesome looking. The Spydie FFG Delica have a limited supply while the Rat Izula doesn't (but it seems that Spyderco always has some limited/sprint knife out or coming out).

if you can find a FFG delica i would say go with that first...they are selling really quick...the izula will be around for a very long time:D

Spydie sprint runs make them a ton of money. the FFG delicas aren't that hard to come by now but will probably sell out in a few months. i can't speak on the izula from use but i know from these forums that people can't say enough good things about it. i don't think i would EDC a fixed blade but it is a good looking knife. i am EDCing a FFG delica right now.

They should really make a sticky how to search in Google.
We get the same questions every week ;)

Since this is a small fixed blade I was thinking that it might be ok for EDC but its hard to tell until you actually have the knife in hand.

Thanks for the tip. i usually google something in these formats Izula + bladeforums.com so hopefully your technique is superior.

I own a IZULA in OD; they are great little knives for any job. I use mine for any outdoor activities, plus as an EDC.

i EDC my izula, it is very comfortable to do so, i have black. i have beaten the snot out of it and the coating still looks brand new. and for ~$40 it is a great deal.

How is the steel in terms of rust/corrosion resistant, edge retention, and ease of sharpening? Can't comment since I just got it last week but RAT's 1095 is a great steel with a proper heat treat
Is it small enough to carry EDC? Yes
Is paracord easy to find and cheap? Yes @ supplycaptain.com
I read the black is prone to chipping. Is this common? Not sure

Also I was about to purchase the FFG Syderco Delica but I came across the Rat Izula. Should I go with the Rat Izula or the Spydie? Depends if you want fixed or folder. Only you can decide that.

Where can I get one for ~$40? I have found some for $43.95 plus shipping which will probably put it a tad over $50

The izula is a great little knife. I like mine quite a lot. I dont find it as comfortable as a folder for edc. However, for my regular routine I dont have any real hard work, so a folder holds up fine. If I needed a real hard working edc, an izula is a great choice. If it were me, id go with the folder.

I wear mine inverted under my shirt on a neck cord every day, you forget it's there, and even with the new optional handle scales, it's never noticed by folks.
