I know the Izula is pretty popular around here for good reason, I've tried looking for reviews/info about the shortstop, but with no luck, can anybody give me a comparison who has both or at least some info on the shortstop since there seems to be very little, I know its quite a bit thicker does that hurt cutting ability very much? Also since its 3V vs 1095 I assume the 3v will hold an edge a good deal longer.

No idea about the Shortstop but the Izula is overpriced. You can get a custom necker for less including sheath.

Nothing overpriced about the izula IMO. I would pay more than what they sell for if retail price were higher. There are not too many knives I would say that about. It is the perfect necker for my needs. Thin enough to slice, thick enough to baton, perfect size and weight for just about anything I can think of. There really is not much you cant do with it. I have heard nothing but great things about the fehrman. I am pretty sure that the shortstop has a very hollow grind to make up for the thick grind. I would much prefer the full flat grind of the izula.
