What's a good oil to use that will prevent rust?

Tuf-Glide/Tuf-Cloth
Flitz
WD-40
?

What works best?

If you're gonna use the knife for food prep mineral oil is the way to go , otherwise the one's listed are fine.

And the thread goes down hill.....

Must be referring to me.......not my intention:o My apologies!!!

I use Remington Rem-DriLube for my knives and guns.......seems to work well............

Mineral oil is cheap, safe, and works just as effectively as other synthetic lubricants...at least from my experience!

It works wonders.

...On a serious note, Rem oil works fine. It's cheap, lasts for a while, and does a good job.

I've always used 3-In-One because it cheap and available everywhere, will probably continue to use then.

Up here in Canada I use Hoppe's 9 gun oil in a little spray bottle, works great, Rem-Oil is a pain in the but to find.

I have already used Engine oil to lubricate a blade for storing will going on seashore, but bad idea, you think twice before using this knife at the kitchen after.
