I have been floating around a couple of forums for nearly 6yrs ( all under the same "handle)
Not so much BF.
This question is related to a topic I really haven't seen, so here goes.
I understand the disagreement between R.A.T. and that other company but I have two knives from that circumstance, A rc3 in D2 and an R1 and I love the R1 I mean I have dozens of Knives I could EDC but it is the R1 I reach for. I brought them both before I was aware of the problem and won't support that other company again.
But is it that bad for me to talk about how impressed I am with the design or how well they work for me?
I also just got an Izula But fixed blade EDC just isn't gunna work in this country. So I have a "real" RAT to talk about but......
I do feel I can contribute to this particular forum maybe when I do talk about them I just don't mention which factory they left from.

Carl, welcome! I don't think anyone on this forum will ever give you any flack about your knives, nor abouit how well they've served you. In my experience here on this forum I have seen many instances where individuals have posted and voiced their opinions and admiration for the design of the Ontario made knives.

I'm sorry to hear of how far downhill the governmaent of Australia has gone. Terrible when a government messes up such a great place.

The fact that they are still great knives despite the fact that Ontario's shady business practices and heat treatments is another kudos to Jeff and Mike's ability to develop such kick a$$ knife designs. I too will never buy any Ontario products but unless any one objects, I am pretty sure that the folks at RAT Cultery would like their knives used. And that is what Ontario's RATS are, property of Jeff and Mike.

I must admit, after reading a post by Jeff somewhere else I have decided that if I ever break my R1 I'll send the remains to Jeff for him to use for spares.
The Rc3 When I sharpened it about a square quarter inch of the coating fell off just back from the point with rust underneath it.
I like carbon knives so oiling, careing for, cherishing, fondleing, err...... is all part of the joy.

Your more than welcome here my friend. And your knives are as well.

Regardless if you ever owned any RAT products, if you want to come in here and contribute, your part of the pack.

This forum and the RAT pack are about alot more than just the knives, it's about a frame of mind and a common lifestyle.

Jeff has expressed his dislike of the whole boycott thing and has wished Ontario and it's owners all the best, online and in person.

Feel free to come here and discuss life, knives (regardless of the maker) and anything else on your mind, were glad to have you.

Ditto on the comments. I own Ontario knives. Have for years. One of them I dearly love and will not part with under any circumstances. However, I am NOT impressed with their current "policy" and wish whole heartedly they'd come to their senses and work things out with Jeff & Mike. Until then, they are off my future purchase list. Thats just my option to exercise. Not intending to fuel anything, but I'm not going to apologize either.

Besides, I'd much rather drop my hard earned dollars in the direction of a company whose moral compass steadily points North.

I don't Support RAT Cutlery just because their products flat KICK-A$$, but it doesn't hurt the situation either that they do. ;)

Kudos Shotgunner11... A very honorable post!

You do not need to own a RC product to be a part of the pack. We are a great big .. pack of rats.

Part of the reason I like Rat cutlery and what drew me to this forum is the attitude of
Jeff, Mike and Shon of Rowen mfg. I like the warranty, the quality, and the attitude they put into their knives and their business. It suits me just fine.
