I've read a lot of old posts and I remeber reading about a RAT machete in the works. Am I right, or is it just wishful thinking?

I think we might see a RC-10 sooner than a RAT Machete, Jeff loves his 5 bucks south american machetes too much to bother doing his own :)

I'll probably end up getting an RC 10 also. I've seen a few posts about that and as intednded they make me want to buy one, even though I'm more in the market for a machete.

I've heard that the Machete talks, but I don't think that will be for a long while. However, I do have high hopes for the RC 10.

im in no real need of a machete, but i might just wanna buy this one :D. the condor edge looks sweet.

awe man my Tramontina machetes are in the mail... I was gonna make my own micarta scales and give the blade a krylon RAT logo. Still might, I guess...

This will, indeed, be happening. And I'm excited like you wouldn't believe about it. :D

While the big choppers like RTAK, the RC-10, Busse Battle Mistress and others are cool, none of them can replace a good machete in the thick stuff. It will be interesting to see the new RAT machete.

I'd love an RC machette. I bought an ontario military machete. I like it but it chipped in a couple of places already. I big 12" slashing, chopping blade with orange g10 handles. A blade to use and pass on to your grand kids. I could just imagine in 50 years and my grand children are cleaning out my estate and come across my knives and they pick up a 12' rc machete and say "holy crap grandpa was a nut, what the hell was this for?" I will be smiling in heaven. (with my rc4)

If you actually use any machete, it will get some chips in the edge. But a sharp machete can really get a lot of work done. I keep mine sharp with a belt sander. For touch ups in the field I use a diamond rod.

Never gotten chips in any of mine... But I agree there's just nothing like it in the woods!

Agreed.
An RC-10 would be great. Even something with a 12" blade, but I'd be hard pressed to put down my 22" bladed, burlap micarta scaled Ontario and pick up a 9" - 10" camper / chopper while beating my way through the bush.
