Ok so i feel a need for a rat pack logo is in order .... with our knife and apparently some other offerings on the table in the future (patches/knives/zippos) etc. a open and non offending logo should be made up with out basterdizing any previous logo... but thats me... i cant do graphics but i wanted to bring it up and see if any one else had ideas or could make something up..... my idea .... it must include bacon and or boobies in some form.... what do you guys think?

You don't want to basterdize bit u want bacon or boobies on it!? I'm not sure jeff will go for that.

I can do some graphic stuff but will not release the file w/o jeffs approval. Deal?

well i wouldnt want to take any of jeffs logos..... following the out line of the RP knife... and i think his logos should be his , and the rat pack should show how resourceful it is... just saying , something un official ... as for the bacon and boobs it was a sugestion to get the ball rolling ... i want this to be fun and not so serious like the rat pack is , but yea we can put in the qualifier under jeffs approval....

I'm the person that contacted Jeff about doing the RAT Pack patch. I was thinking something simple and unobtrusive. In my mind something along the lines of either desert tan or od green background with the RAT Cutlery logo in black with "Proud RAT Pack member" in black underneath it. Nothing offensive, simple and to the point.

well i was hoping for a simple graphic ... colors dont really matter , as long as its easy to etch in coatings and stands out a bit.... like any graphic .... something that can be done on patches of many differnt colors.... and that the rat pack wont violate any copy write using for there own project with permission from the pack.... also not putting to much burdon on jeff...

Not to sound like a bitch bit I think since jeff has given stormstaff the go ahead to do this HE should be the one to do it. If he wants to ask for opinions and thoughts of others that's cool. But we saw what happens when too many ppl are in on the design of one thing. There's always cry babies in the mix.

yep agreed Mrs shotty... i was just looking for the response to see if it was even worth the effort to do all the ground work... so disreguard this... thanks

 Sounds cool

;) I agree 100%

As I said, something simple, classy in it's own way and to the point. It doesn't need to scream out anything.

If it strikes up a conversation with someone, great. That person may just be the next RAT Pack member.

I've already told Jeff that what/if gets done will be submitted for his approval. He's given me the green light and said I could use his art. I now along with an unamed helper just have to find time to get info and such.

Ok, let's make this easy before it goes south. It was my understanding that it would be a simple graphic using our logo(s) and maybe some extra wording such as "RAT Pack". We are fine with that. We are not fine with bastardizing RAT Cutlery in any way.

Sounds perfect! Don't change it. :) Are you thinking they'll be moral patches (loop-side velcro backing) or just regular patches?

I was thinking about a round patch, approx the diameter of a pop can. As far as hook and loop, I'll have to see what's offered.

I have to find a company first. We have a local place that I need to check with. I'd rather do business face to face. I just have to find time. With working overtime and having a wife and kids, my time gets limited.

And to Jeff, nothing bad, all good.....just like RAT knives.

Who ever all is going to be on board with this, I'm offering my services if they're needed. I was the Lead Graphic Designer, Marketing Director, and a Graphics/Multimedia consultant for a major IT solutions firm for several years. I know that Stormstaff wants to be the brains behind the design and that's cool. I'll leave that up to him. I just want to make sure that everything looks clean and professional. I think that if a couple of us get together on the artwork for this and maybe future stuff, we can make some super cool stuff. If there's one thing I know, it's better to have more than one set of eyes on this kind of stuff. Like I said, I don't want to lead anything here. I just want to make sure it turns out perfect. As far as I'm concerned, all of the concept and design is up to stormstaff. It's up to you. If you want to run with it on your own, cool. If you want a hand, I'm here. I swore that I'd stay out of this stuff after I left the firm, but I care a lot about the RAT Pack and RAT Cutlery so I'm willing to strap the spurs back on if you guys want me too. And that goes for everything for RAT related stuff, not just this time and this project. RAT is a great company and the RAT Pack are great people. I'll help them out whenever I can. ...as long as it's not building websites. Man I hate that stuff. ;)

+1
Way to be.
Im sure with all the talent that many members of this pack have, some veryVERY cool stuff could be brought to fruition. The possibilites are waiting to be made real.

 for a simple design. Classy, practical, much like the knives the patch will represent. Maybe the RAT logo, with "Proud Rat Pack Member" on it.

While I am pretty sure most of our members either like or HAVE boobies (more so then bacon even) I really don't care for the idea of the RP patch to display it. When I order these, my kids are each going to want one for their packs, to sew on next to the Izula patch they all ready have.

Not sure how I can lend a hand with the project, but I can help in any way, just drop me a note.

I was thinking the same thing as far as "family friendly" design because it'll appeal to more folks I think.

Thank you for the offer. More than likely the help will be appreciated and accepted.

My "idea" is posted further up. Feel free to make suggestions and such. I need to find out what specs the maker needs and go from there. Trust me, I originally didn't plan on taking on this project but it's something I want to see done.

Hopefully once I know what specs we have to work with, it'll start falling into place.

Don't know if it'd fit on a patch. :confused::p
