when i woke up today i thought that a RAT PACK edition izula would be cool, it would have orange powder coat and say RAT PACK on it some where. and Mrs S wouldn't necessarily have to organize it, i would take the undertaking if need be, i think it would be very cool and a bit more affordable then an ESEE-3. it would keep the orange and black scheme of the original RAT PACK knife, orange powder coat and black lettering and it would say RAT PACK around the lanyard ring,
THIS IS NOT AVAILABLE, IT IS ONLY A POLL TO SEE WHAT THE INTEREST IS, DONT GET MAD AT ME :D THIS IS ONLY AN IDEA I WAS THROWING OUT THERE

I was gonna say at least wait til the Junglas, Lite machete, and Izula folder are taken care of, we don't wanna throw any wrenches in the works. That and I would wanna wait and see if the RAT pack name changes. I am all for wiping the word RAT from the forum. IMO

I would definitely like to see a pack knife, but I am wondering if we should wait or not too.

I could go either.

I don't think we'll ever see another RAT Pack knife. Not after the last fiasco.

I'd love to see it, but I seriously doubt that is ever gonna happen.

When the RP knife idea came up initally, some of us hinted towards an orange or blue Izula but it was quickly shot down. The different colors of powdercoat are not as simple as they seem as the powder is quite expensive and there is a minimum quantity that they would buy (and it was like 500 knives worth or something....)

That and the humongous pain in the ass it was for all involved parties, I do not blame them one bit.

Sure am happy with my 2 RP RC3s though...:D

The trouble didn't hit until people started acting like they were buying a knife off the shelf at wal mart, not gettng a custom knife built It could have been so simple, but it brought out a feces throwing contest of monkies.

If it were ever done again, cost should be higher than retail by a good factor. Or do e very quietly. Low prices attract leeches, and some of the biggest problem people I saw only ever posted about the rp knife, and have since left.

I'd like to add it's my favorite knife, and one of the coolest things in my collection by far.

There is no sense of even thinking a pack knife with the name RAT on it since we're changing the name of the pack.

As far as doing another project like the last one. I'm not sure it's going to happen. Things got very complicated last time b/c ppl didn't READ THE RULES! We made things simple and it turned into a CF. I'm not sure how much more we could dumb things down to make those confused the last time understand.

Orange powdercoat. I'm afraid that's not going to happen either. The minimum order would indeed need to be 500 knives and it would create ANOTHER part number for the company.
