The RAT website says they don't ship internationally. Is this going to be the case for the rat pack knives as well?

ya i am going to be out of the country for the next 12 months. And I need my rat pack knife but if worst comes to worst they could send it to my house and my wife will send it to Iraq

You better purchase a RC-3 to hold you over! Also get to posting to get your Rat Pack number.

melch - be safe and thanks for your service. You and those who serve with you are heroes in my book.

hmm hope shipping isnt too expensive to use canadians:)
Or Alaskans... :D

I've ordered from some sites that charge ridiculous prices for shipping here. I know it's BS because every time I order for NGK I only get charged the $7.95 or w/e the priority mail rate is.

But you can see russia :p

Or Europeans ...

but I guess there's alway some way to get the knife to us foreign RP members ...

We already ship to APOs, military, Embassy and other government addresses all over the world. As for shipping to non-government addresses, we will find a way to get it done. I assure you of that.

I dont think shipping to Iraq is considered international. it s a us fpo. I could be wrong. I think what the company was trying to avoid international laws on knives. I could be wrong though.

The biggest problem we have with shipping internationally is we can't guarantee anything after we send the customer a tracking number for the package. In the past, we have had product confiscated by receiving country Customs, heavy taxes levied on the product before the customer could get their knife out, etc. Then the customer gets pissed at us. Another issue we sometimes have is an international customer will want us to mark the box as something other than a knife or say it's a gift. I don't like to lie and won't lie for anyone. We do not know all the international laws for all the countries, and obviously our customers don't know their own laws sometimes so it causes problems.

Why can't international buyers just run a quick google check on custom fees?
Even I could find out how that works, and I'm allergic to legal language.

I found that some resellers ( won't name them) tag on the shipping slip, camping equipment instead of knife. I find it being a good way of not lying and easing the customs process. Any ways thanks for your efforts.

Dont worry about me guys and thank you for your support. I have my tan RC-4 hooked up to my kit. Its just that i dont want wait for my rat pack knife #292 for a full year. And if they cant ship internationally its no sweat my wife can send it.

Shipping knives and guns internationally is a somewhat messy task. I don't blame you for avoiding the pitfalls. For anyone interested in attempting it, checkout:

For high value shipments, I'd recommend FedEx, or the USPS's GXG service, in which the final delivery is done by FedEx, not the foreign postal system. Also they have embedded customs in their own facilities. It's faster, more secure, and less prone to theft. Knives shouldn't be too bad, but prices start around $26 and go up sharply.
