Mike and I are leaving next Thursday for Peru and will not be back until after the first of the month. Obviously we will not be updating knife orders during this time.

If you are participating in the RAT Pack knife program and requested your knife in the thread:

Go here to order your knife:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=680812

Go here to see those who have paid so far:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=680964

Again, we will not be updating this list or answering any emails between October 22nd and November 1st. If you email me during this time frame about your knife, it will be deleted from my inbox.

Jeff

I'm going to teach a READING COMPREHENSION class when I come back from Peru. This whole process is so simple but I'm still getting emails from people who simply can't understand to click on the thread above that shows all the knives that are paid for. Thanks to all of those who have followed the rules and haven't sent an email asking where your knife is - you guys make this project worth doing. But for the rest: EVERYTHING is updated in the thread above. READ THIS AGAIN. Everything is updated in the thread above. READ THIS AGAIN. Everything is updated in the thread above.

Yes, READING COMPREHENSION is becoming another lost survival skill. I became aware of this before I retired. I would provide my operators with clear written instructions. But often those instructions were not understood. These men were all high school graduates and most had some college. You'd be surprised at how many high school graduates can barely read.

Jeff,

It might be prudent to copy the note of your first message in the Paid up thread, top line of reply #1, stating you will be gone Oct 22-Nov.1 and will not be updating the thread during that time. Please wait until after Nov. 1 and check this again to verify payment received.

You know there is going to be a few folks paying during your away period and not having read this thread, they are going to get all ansy like little junkies scratching and sniffing and wondering if their money disappeared into the paypal netherland....Just trying to help.

Thanks.....It would appear that this forum knife offers many, many complications..Your hard earned efforts are greatly appreciated.

uhhh..that's been in the original post since I made it. But you're probably right and I probably need to put it in letters at least 2 inches tall and post it in every post that's made on our forum :D

This simple project of making and selling a RP knife has forced me to realize that no matter how much you type, or how simple you try to make something, some folks will not understand.

i didnt know it was that hard? i must of missed something........ oh yea i.... i sat and read the instructions... doh silly me...

It's not really surprising at all since it is common to encounter college graduates that stomp on every grammar rule in the book. We keep throwing millions/billions at education and the result is the dumbing down of America. Maybe if the education system wasn't so damned bent on cramming socialism down our kids' throats, they could actually teach them something of value. :( :grumpy:

RIF, Reading Is Fundamental. I heard that on Sesame Street or something like that.

The problems is in our age of super fast, super easy technology, people have gotten away from actually looking at printed items and studying them, everyone wants the Cliff Notes Version.

For a while I was guitly myself until I sought to slow down and simplify my life :)

All we have to do is go back and read and re-read the threads to see where we are all at, I know it takes time, but it would make things easier on Mr. Randall :)

Just to be a smartass, it says this in the paid for knives thread...

This list will not be updated between November 21 and November 2nd since we will be in Peru.

Damn, that is almost a year.

Good catch on the date. Screw-up on my part. Wonder how many folks would even catch that though ;)

I think a "few" caught it. I also think those that can't follow the most elementary of rules should have their Rat Pack privileges rovoked until after passing your READING COMPREHENSION class!

While my father was working for Coca-Cola he interviewed a recent college grad. Something seemed off with the guy so he slid the guy's resume across the table and asked him to read some of it. Didn't happen, guy couldn't read a word...

Awesome, we're going to have an I-Pod test :D

Man - Jeff that is super great :D :D :D :D

I wonder how he got through college... maybe a "look the other way, he's damn good at football" free ride? There's plenty of evidence that it happens on a regular basis... just listen to the incoherent garbage that comes from the mouths of some of the NFL's top paid players.

Jeff, I'm in for the reading comprehension class. While it will likely be very frustrating, it should also be very entertaining. :p

lolz i cant w8 to pas this 1

You realize 1,000 years from now someone is going to be digging at an ancient find. And they will unearth a hard drive. They'll spend years cleaning it, studying it. Eventually they will get it all back together and working. Finally they will understand our culture and ways. And just our luck, it's going to be the freaking server drive for lolcatz.
