Rat Pack - Logo Usage

Are there any existing threads concerning the use of Rat's IP in re: Rat Pack member logos for avatars, sigs, etc?

I've seen some interesting ones (Dylside, et al), but before I start whipping one up for myself, I wanted to make sure I was using their logo with permission so as not to infringe on their IP.

If they would rather we not use the logo directly, are there any guidelines?

I believe at one time Jeff also stated that he didn't want the a rat (the rodent) associated with RAT
 
I've also noticed that a couple of other companies have logos (Livesay knives for one) that look alot like the Rat Cutlery ones. Is it a well know design, if so where did it come from? I know Livesay made some of the knives for RC.
 
Newt Livesay made the first model of the RTAK years ago. That was the only knife he made for Randall's Adventure and Training. He has never made any knives for RAT Cutlery. Tops knives also made a knife for Randall's Adventure and Training as did John Greco. Shon Rowen is the only maker to date that has made knives for RAT Cutlery.
 
My mistake I thought Randall's Adventure and Training and Rat Cutlery were the same company but different Departments so to speak. Did the R A T name come from Randall's Adventure and Training ?
