as ive said before i don't know much about these knies nor do i own any(yet) and i want to know more. ive seen many pictures of rat "protos" like the proto izula. they are uncoated and that stuff. my questions are; are they for sale? are they cheaper than the normal knives?

I wouldn't imagine anyone selling theirs. If I were to part with mine, which will never happen, it would be a gift to someone.

I'm taking my uncoated/unengraved Izula to the grave. Don't take that as a challenge, now! :D

I did see one proto Izula for sale here on BF and it sold pretty quick! I was very tempted to get it myself but didn't have the funds.

Believe it or not, most all of the protos we build are given away in contests. We don't even keep any for ourselves. The whole RAT concept is about the end user and we like to get protos and new product into users hands for feedback. We know what we like but we always want to hear from you guys!

P-s-s-st! joninthetolet... Don't tell the RAT guys but they are also prototypes. A bunch of us knife users got together and did some genetic manipulation to see if it was possible to create business owners who put the customer first. I'm sworn to secrecy regarding the exact formula (no sheep were permanently harmed during this experiment) but, so far, the experiment seems to be a success. :D

Oh, and by the way, on that note, Jeff, I'm loving this new RAT folder. I seriously think it's the perfect folding blade.:D

I'd love to get my hands on a RC TAK proto!
I'd be more than happy to test it side by side an Ontario TAK.

I don't know what you have to do, but I would resort to begging to get a laser strike proto when they are available!!!
