Rat rc-3mil / rc-4

I have both the RAT (logo) RC-3MIL with jump sheath and RC-4 with included kydex.

I am not a survivalist and both knives are brand new - never used. I've decided to dump one and keep the other + my Junglas & Izulas (gotta represent). :)

Which one would you keep? They pretty much feel the same in hand. I think the RC-3 is cooler but the RC-4 has a way cooler sheath.

was in your shoes and kept the RC3mil. I also got rid of my RC6.

The RC3mil can honestly handle 90% of whatever youd need a knife to do... Never felt like I needed a bigger knife.
 
easy. i'd keep the 4. the thickness makes it more comfortable to me compared to the 3. the better sheath is just icing on top.
 
Since you have and are keeping a Junglas and Izula(s), I would keep the 4. It is a good middle ground. The Izula's will handle the smaller finer work, and the junglas will kik azz in any chopping and bigger duties. The 4 will fill the gap between the two.
 
I'm with keeping the 4 also. 3/16" - 4" blade and kydex are a good combo for almost all bushcraft/camping chores IMO. Great multi-purpose blade.
 
Tough choice. Personally, I like the thickness(thinness) of the RC3, but wouldn't mind the extra length of the RC4. Can't go wrong with either, though.
 
You should definitely keep the 4 and sell that 3MIL to me for next to nothing. :D

I really like the sheath of the 4 as well. The Junglas isn’t really a game changer for me. It covers stuff on the big end, but the 3 vs 4 game still remains. You can’t go wrong either way. Which ever one you sell you wish you had it back I bet. :D

Since you have an Izula for the smaller tasks, I'd keep the 4.

Thanks guys for talking me down to earth. Just got done fondling the RC-3 & 4. Sales thread offer withdrawn & locked.

I like it's super tightness but for a non-molle backed sheath carry, it's rather bulky (wide) as compared to a tighter (dimensions) kydex sheath that you can lash to your belt, belt loops or what have you. It's just kind of chintzy to me. I like kydex - but I agree it is a very effective sheath. :)
